Overview

Fournili is a multi-user e-commerce platform built to support sustainable commerce through the reuse and resale of materials and products. It connects four core audiences : workshops, suppliers, recyclers, and individuals, each with distinct goals. While workshops and suppliers showcase materials or unused inventory, individuals use the platform to shop for clothes, tools, and everyday products. At the same time, recyclers gain valuable access to workshop waste data through a premium model, encouraging strategic material sourcing and responsible consumption.

The Challenge

The primary challenge was designing a single platform that could meet the needs of two very different audiences: everyday consumers looking for a familiar, intuitive shopping experience, and industrial users like workshops, suppliers, and recyclers with more complex material and data exchange needs. Each user type required its own interface logic, access permissions, and value proposition, without overwhelming the overall experience. On top of that, the platform needed a sustainable monetization strategy that didn’t compromise user trust or usability. Balancing commercial goals, environmental impact, and user simplicity was at the heart of this project.

The Solution

I designed tailored user flows for each persona. Individuals interact with the platform as shoppers, enjoying an intuitive e-commerce experience with rich product listings, filtering, and purchasing flows. Workshops and suppliers are empowered to upload and manage products with minimal friction. Recyclers access premium insights into workshop waste to support sustainable material reuse. The interface was built on a scalable, component-based system to maintain consistency and simplify future feature rollouts, ensuring every user journey is optimized around their core tasks and needs.

The Result

Fournili successfully balances the needs of both everyday consumers and industry professionals. Individuals can browse and shop with ease, just like on traditional e-commerce platforms, while workshops and suppliers gain a new sales channel for unused items. The Premium model enables recyclers to access valuable waste data, providing a revenue stream that supports the platform’s long-term sustainability. The final product not only delivers a clean, intuitive UX for all users but also aligns with environmental goals, promoting reuse, reducing waste, and powering a circular economy.
